This project is about harmony between materials, light and transparency. Clear and functional, it was designed and implemented for a young family. This apartment is located in one of the newest residential complexes in Kyiv, and is 86 sq.m in size. We found inspiration in nature, it’s textures, play of light, and the interaction between those two components.
This three-room apartment was designed with a corridor with storage cabinets and a large mirror that helps save it full of natural light. A spacious studio with a big kitchen island in the middle of the room turned out to be a lovely place to cook and spend time together. It took us 3 weeks to find this deep black, matte stone for the kitchen. But every second of it was worth it. We found the best, purest surface. Kitchen cabinets are made from oak veneer. We were used hidden handles to visually expand the space.
I wanted to get your attention to how the living and dining zone are divided with the help of a ceiling. Different materials and levels make studio wider and full of volume. And this technique helps us hide a sliding system mechanism. A dining table, made by the Ukrainian brand “Buro 150” in shade “pallet”, can fit six people. Two warm ottomans with wool pillows are our custom design with Mykhailo Svitlyk.

Hidden behind the satin glass sliding system is the working space of our client, who works from home, and we put it on an beautiful, old balcony. Concrete plaster accents were added as a piece of memory about how the apartment looked like before we started renovation.
Guest bathroom is filled with bright details like terrazzo “Venice Villa” and volumetric accent wall covered of vivid pattern tile “41Zero42”. In the future it will also serve as a children's bathroom.
The 3d plaster wall panel in the bedroom amazingly plays with light and shadows during the day. It was quite challenging to find  the right place for air conditioning in the bedroom. We wanted to keep the 3d wall clean, but it was just the perfect place for the air conditioner. And the decision was found so close, and it was in the wardrobe wardrobe. We hid it in cabinet.

Natural wood, linen, stone, wool, glass and bright accents together create warm, hygge island in a big and fast city.
